# World Setting

* ***Code Sekai*** is a world with an unknown origin and starting point of existence. However, if we refer to the remaining historical documents, the oldest record is just a few hundred years old. * In the historical document recorded that: There’s a story passed down for generations about ***The Makers*** constructing ***Meta Tower*** to communicate with another dimension. But an error caused the dimension portal to explode, leading to the invasion and catastrophe of ***‘Xenolith’*** monster species from another dimension. * However, the *Makers* are vulnerable due to their physical limitations. And so, they made battle robots called ***‘Automata’*** from pieces of *Xenolith*’s crystal core to fight in their stead. * The long war caused the *Makers* to slip up and finally be eliminated. Only the *Automata* remained on the battlefield and later defeated the *Xenolith*. They exiled and sealed the *Xenolith* in *Meta Towe*r forever. * Even though Automata have no lifespan or senility, they still need materials and parts from *Xenolith* to maintain their bodies. And with the shortage of resources caused by the passage of time, they have to return to fight in *Meta Tower* and collect resources for their own race’s survival. **Meta Tower** * A sky-piercing crystal tower in the heart of ***Metro Tokyo***, originally named Tokyo Tower. It consists of 99 floors (as in the data record). * After an error caused the dimension portal to explode, the ***'Metaverse Invasion'*** phenomenon occurred inside this tower, causing different dimensions to gushe into each tower floor, distorting reality and giving birth to the *Xenolith*. * Currently, there’s still no one who can climb to the 99th floor. So the Automata’s curiosity about what awaits them on the top of the tower.

**Soul Survivor Show (SSS)** * Due to *Meta Tower*'s cruel history from the war and the fact that its resources are still vital for *Automata*’s existence, this made the *Automata* want to change its cruel and miserable appearance into one of entertainment and fun. This is why they created a show called *SSS* to broadcast the battle that occurs inside the *Meta Tower*. * If anyone can reach the 99th floor, what awaits them is huge reward money, allowing them to have longevity. * If there’s any death during battle, the challenger will have the right to ‘*Recalling*’ their stored memory and can revive for free during the show. So, the challenger can return to challenge the program repeatedly until the competition is over. * Constant death, on the other hand, is not a good thing. Every time one faces death, their mind will start to distort, and pain will cause them apathy, indifference, and insanity, and finally disqualification from the program. This is what everyone needs to do whatever it takes to avoid death as much as possible. * ***Recalling technology*** is an innovation invented by a laboratory called ***Ad Astra Sapentium*** for backing up memories for the *Automata* and recalling them back for users who are under a prior contract. It’s widely used before challenging *Meta Tower*, and if there’s a recalling order, the stored data will override all current data.\
